Choose a payment method. You can choose “Bank Account” , “Credit Card” , “Debit Card” or “Paypal Balance”.
The option “Paypal Balance” will appear if you get enough money in your Paypal Balance. If you haven’t seen it, please go to the “Paypal Balance Issue” on the last page to get the instruction !
In addition to PayPal balance, Xoom has also made it possible for the PayPal account holders to pay with the cards or bank accounts linked to their PayPal account hence even if you don’t have enough funds in your PayPal account balance, you will still be able to fund your transfers using the bank accounts or credit cards linked to your PayPal account.

STEP 10 (last step)
Wait till your money is transferred to the receiver. Contact to the receiver to confirm the transaction with the screenshot of the billing.
If the transaction isn’t successful, the money will turn back to your Paypal account.
Your transaction will be processed in business hours : Monday through Friday from 08am – 05pm (UTC+7) and Saturday from 08am – 11am (UTC+7).
If your transaction is out of the business time, please wait till the next business time OR take the screenshot of the billing (of Xoom) and send it to the support team.
PAYPAL BALANCE ISSUE
In this article, you are going to find out why you can’t pay with PayPal balance and what you need to do, to resolve this issue of Xoom not showing paypal balance among the payment options.
Why you can’t send money from PayPal balance on Xoom.
1) Not enough Funds in your PayPal account balance.
If you can’t find PayPal balance on the list of Payment option on Xoom, the first thing you need to do, is to check your PayPal balance.
If you can’t find PayPal balance among the Payment options in Xoom, its because you don’t have enough fund in your PayPal account balance. According to Xoom, this is the main reason why the PayPal balance option doesn’t appear as a payment option.
In an article published on the Xoom help blog, Xoom revealed that the PayPal balance option will only appear as a payment option if you have enough available balance to pay for your Xoom transaction in full, including fees.
NOTE: there’s a difference between available funds and funds on hold.
If the funds in your PayPal account are on hold, the PayPal balance option won’t appear in the list of payment option.
2) Incompatible currency
For PayPal balance to appear among the payment options on Xoom, the available balance in your PayPal account must be in the same currency you’re sending, and your currency options are based on where you live.
So if you wish to pay from PayPal balance when sending money on Xoom, always make sure you choose the currency which matches the primary currency in your PayPal account as seen in the screenshot below.
Xoom also says that to pay with USD your PayPal balance must be in USD and you must live in United States.
This simply means that if you are in Jamaica and wish to transfer $50 to a friend in Nigeria, the primary currency in your PayPal account balance must be in USD and your sender address on Xoom must be a US address (and not Jamaica) for you to be able to send money in USD with PayPal.
From the screenshot below, you can see that i have entered a US address (even though I’m in Cameroon)
You can get a PayPal confirmed US address from MYUS and other US freight forwarding companies.

3) In eligible card or bank account
In addition to PayPal balance, Xoom has also made it possible for the PayPal account holders to pay with the cards or bank accounts linked to their PayPal account hence even if you don’t have enough funds in your PayPal account balance, you will still be able to fund your transfers using the bank accounts or credit cards linked to your PayPal account.
Once you log in to Xoom via the PayPal login option, any eligible bank accounts, credit cards, or debit cards stored in your PayPal account will appear as payment options on Xoom. Xoom will process those payments within your Xoom account and not your PayPal account.
For the card or bank account linked to your PayPal account to appear as a payment option, the currency of the card or bank account must be in the same currency you’re sending.
If your card was issued in Cameroon, the payment currency of the card will obviously be in FCFA and therefore not eligible to send money in USD on Xoom hence the card won’t appear as a payment option under PayPal Payment methods.
If the currency of the bank account linked to your PayPal account is in British pound and your sending currency is USD, your bank account won’t appear as a payment method under PayPal. It will only appear as a Payment option if the bank account stored in your PayPal account is a US bank account.
The same rule applies with other currencies.
However, if the currency of your card or bank account match the sending currency but still can’t find some of your PayPal payment methods, go to your PayPal Wallet to manage your payment methods. It’s also possible that PayPal is restricting access to a payment method, possibly due to the amount you are attempting to pay. Additionally, payment methods stored in your PayPal account may not appear if your PayPal account and your Xoom account were created in different countries.
4) Change your payment preference
To enable Xoom to easily access your PayPal fund, its also important that you change the primary payment method in your PayPal account to PayPal balance as seen in the screenshot below.
